Unless otherwise specified, maintain the dust concentration for the blowing dust test at 10.6 ±7 g/m³ (0.3 ±0.2 g/ft³). This concentration exceeds that normally associated with moving vehicles, aircraft, and troop movement, but has historically proven to be a reliable concentration for blowing dust tests using silica flour (ground quartz) material. If available, use a dust concentration based on natural environment data or other historical information to accurately represent the specific service condition.
