C-2.52.5 required shear strength of beam

A number of the prequalified connections require calculation of the required shear strength of the beam, as defined in this section. Unlike the calculation for $M_{p r}$, the required shear strength of the beam, shown as $V_{u}$ in Figure C-2.4, includes the gravity load on the portion of the beam between the plastic hinge location and the face of the column.
