Sockets shall be manufactured from mild steel by any of the following processes:
- a) Hot-finished seamless (HFS);
- b) Electric resistance welded or high frequency induction welded ERW or HFIW;
- c) Hot-finished welded (HFW); and
- d) Hand welded.
6.2.1
All sockets shall be either welded or seamless as agreed to between the purchaser and the manufacturer.
6.2.2
All electrically welded sockets used for steam services shall be normalized.
